Here's an article about how "often the most important question is not who won the debate on logic or argument, but who got the greater respect, admiration, trust and comfort from the public.”
Another enlightening excerpt from the article:
Quote:
Does this matter? Yes, because we judge these things by our own personal life experience and we judge by how they treat each other. It provides an insight into character.
What? It provides insight into character? Well, then it brings up this point about the candidates:
Quote:
They have been schooled by their campaign managers — Steve Schmidt for McCain, David Axelrod for Obama — in areas such as posture, voice, hand gestures, facial reactions and, of course, the all-important lapel pin.
So which is it? How can it provide insight into their character, when their "character" has been engineered and marketed to the idiot American public?
The article is right, however it needs more clarification. Instead, it should have said,
Quote:
Facts and logical arguments do not matter in presidential elections. It is style, and only style... in America, at least.
We really are stupid.
